A Reminder about our New Hours

Just wanted to remind everyone that Runaway’s hours are now 10 am to 6 pm on Wednesday thru Saturday. We remain open on Sundays from 11 am to 5 pm. And we are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

As always, our store hours do not necessarily affect attendance at classes and special events, since many of those are scheduled when we are otherwise closed to the public.

Runaway visits Comic Fest

Runaway visits Comic Fest

Part of the Runaway gang (including Edgar Allan Crow, our lovely mascot) have wandered off to work the Northwest ComicFest at the Salem Convention Center on August 15 and August 16. But never fear, several intrepid and dedicated souls are keeping the store up and running — and did we mention our 4 for $1 sale on our 12 by 12 printed paper (excludes Graphic 45 and paper normally priced more than $1) as well as our 50% off sale on all printed paper pads (including Graphic 45)!

If you want to go see if Christy and Kelsey are really working (not to mention all the cool booths, classes and costumes), you can find more info about the Northwest Comic Fest at http://www.northwestcomicfest.com/.

A reminder about Runaway’s new hours

Runaway is now open Wednesday thru Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm and on Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm. We remain closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

So . . . what that means is that we will open and close an hour earlier than we used to on Wednesday thru Saturday. And that’s the only change! 🙂

“Run Away” from the Heat — We have A/C!

Just a reminder as you go about your business in this beautiful but sometimes overwhelming hot weather. You can always stop by Runaway to take a break from the heat.

Edgar Allan Crow is enjoying “weather” in the low 70s while the rest of the town faces the heat. And we have a water cooler!

Runaway’s Holiday Weekend — Open July 3, 4 & 5

Runaway will be open regular hours (11 am to 7 pm) on Friday, July 3 (and Runaway to Play will take place as usual).

On Saturday, July 4, Runaway will open at 11 am but close early at 4 pm.

And on Sunday, July 5, Runaway will be open our regular Sunday hours (11 am to 5 pm).

Enjoy your holiday, stay safe. And come on in to check things out (or if you just want to enjoy the store air conditioning!).

You won’t believe our July class schedule

The class schedule for July is jam-packed. Edgar Allan Crow wants everyone to know that Runaway is lucky to have both wonderful teachers and fabulous customers — that’s what makes the place work as well as it does! That and the presence of a very stylish bird “hovering” over everything in the place.

We have even more Art Impressions® classes from Peggy Joyce. We have cartooning classes from Kelsey Hinton, and of course we have Deb Hook’s card classes using Great Impressions® and Whipper Snapper®.

Teresa Case is teaching Technique Tuesday® stamps and Christy Wood is taking over the Technique Tuesday® Die Fun Shop.

Tracy Ragland is bringing her “upcycling” skills to bear, and Joan Wiens has a couple of new offerings — Medieval Borders and a class using Inktense® pencils. Kitty Miller is collaging your animals. Well, we think she’s using pictures. Not the animals themselves. Never can be certain.

Let’s see . . . what else? Oh, that’s right. Christy Wood has a couple of offerings to supplement her “regular” classes as well.

Remember, you can get a printed class calendar for the next month or two anytime at Runaway. And you can look at upcoming event descriptions (“Events” from the home page) here on the website (when Edgar gets them done — not all birds are as reliable as we’d like). And you can always check the “official” Runaway calendar (not always as much detail and no photos, but if it’s scheduled it’s on that calendar) by choosing “Event Calendar” from the home page (that’s the only way to see that complete version — the other calendars include only the events that have been separately entered).

Cardmaking, mixed media, altered arts, journaling, drawing and much, much more! And that’s just in the month of July!
